Dorothy Martha (Polashenski) Deshisky

Dorothy Martha Deshisky, 88, of Drums, passed away Friday morning at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, Drums.

Born in Harleigh, PA, November 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Kudla) Polashenski, and spent most of her life in Drums.

Dorothy worked as a sewing machine operator for the former Public Shirt Factory, Hazleton.  She was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf, and enjoyed taking trips to local casinos.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Thomas Deshisky, Sr., who passed away May 12, 2007; a son Gerald; brothers Frank, Stanley, John, Albert, Joseph, Andy, and William Polashenski; ans sisters Mary Szmulanski, Helen Gorski, and Theresa Sitoski.

Surviving are a son Thomas Jr., and his wife Linda. Drums; three grandchildren Keith Fetter, David Deshisky, and Danelle Ferguson; four great-granchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.  Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening 6-8 pm.
