Donald C. Klingerman

Donald C. Klingerman, 80, of Nuremberg, passed away Saturday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton, on June 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Merlin and Mayme (Croll) Klingerman and has spent much of his life in Nuremberg.

Donald served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion, Nuremberg.  He was employed as an instrumentation technician working at power plants in several states.  He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Nuremberg. Donald enjoyed dancng, traveling, and vintage cars.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister Ruth Yurcho; two brothers, William D. and James L. Klingerman; and a step-daughter Pamela Hershelman.

Surviving are two children Carole Klingerman and her fiancée Peter Chenail, Griswold, CT; and Christopher Klingerman, Zion Grove; two step-daughters Yvonne Landis and her husband Jeff, Sugarloaf, and Sandy Rizkalla, Freeland; two grandchildren Mitchel and Tess Marie; one great-grandson Adison; four step grandchildren; a sister Dolores McNamara, Drums; and several nieces and nephews in the area.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with his pastor, the Rev Philip Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening 6-8 PM.
