So sorry for your loss, he was a great Orthopedic doctor. I probably gave him something to scratch his head over. I'm the guy that tried to ride the handrail of the escalator at the Laurel Mall like a sliding board. I flew off halfway down and snapped my leg completely in half. My toes were pointing 180°, the opposite direction. And after his excellent work and after about 6 weeks it was just starting to heal. I tried to run away from my mother without crutches hopping on one leg, fell, crack the cast and knocked my leg off kilter.

Over 40 years later I was working at doctor's house doing some work for him and I don't think he knew who I was. He had his wife come over and say to me that he was observing the way I was moving and to tell me that I was going to have trouble with my right knee. I said to her you tell doctor I'm the guy who fell off the escalator at the Laurel Mall.

I felt it necessary to tell this story because he really did his best with me and I think he was the best! Thanks Doc rest easy.

I think it was Thanksgiving 1964 that Dan and his family invited me for Thanksgiving dinner. As a farm boy from Nebraska, and a classmate of Dan's, I've always been very grateful for the unique hospitality -- the only time in medical school such a blessing came my way from a classmate. Bless the memory of Dr. Dan and his family. R A Ulrich, MD

Dan Lovrinic was a good doctor, a good orthopedic surgeon, and a very good man. I appreciated working with him in Hazleton and at the VA in Wilkes Barre.

I've tried 4X to leave my thoughts. But I guess they were too long. Dolores, you'll know what I tried to say.

Dan and I became in close friends from the day that we met at Holy Trinity in Hazleton in 1946. We both developed a love for hunting and fishing and did just that together over the years. Our experiences were many and most of them would be very entertaining to relate (as long as I can still recall them). I will pick one - the last one that we fished together. Dan and his wife visited us in Utica, NY in the late '60s, maybe early '70s as I recall, and I took him to the West Canada Creek to fish. He caught the biggest trout of his life - a 20 inch brown trout. He was shaking like a leaf!
The last time I saw Dan was in 1995 at my mother's wake at the Bonin Funeral Home when he came to pay his respects (as did his sister, Dolores).
There is a lot to relate here, but this is too long as it is. Dan's obituary has truly hit me, not because he died. We're all going to do that. but because of the memories. Another close friend has departed and left me with those memories.
I cannot be there for the memorial services, but please know that I will always remember Dan.

I have worked with Dr Lovrinic as an RN and CRNA at the HGH. He was a very respected surgeon: sending prayers to the family during this most difficult time.

Julie, Matthew and JJ,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I have many happy memories of your family from my "Babysitting " days. I always had a deep respect for your dad as a doctor and a man. I hope that he somehow got reconnected with my dad in the afterlife and they are both driving Porsches around Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Dan's passing. Dan and I were classmates from first grade at Holy Trinity School through our graduation from HHS Class of '58. He was a wonderful friend!

Am so sorry and shocked to hear of Dan's passing, he was a wonderful person. He and I graduated from Hazleton High School together, Class of 1958. Dan always had a pleasant remark to make and he was an overall nice guy.

Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord. and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May his Soul, and the Souls of all the faithful departed through Your Mercy rest in peace. Amen.
