Daniel F. Friendy

Daniel F. Friendy, 77, of McAdoo, passed away Wednesday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Hazleton, August 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Daniel and Angeline (Billett) Friendy and spent his entire life in McAdoo.

Daniel had worked as a landscaper for Lawn Specialties and was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.  He had been a coach for the McAdoo Chargers Youth Football, Posties in the McAdoo Little League, and Immaculate Conception Youth Basketball.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed collecting all types of sports cards.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two sons Daniel and David, and a brother Ralph.

Surviving are his wife of the past 54 years, the former Shirley Lisbinski; a son Keith, McAdoo, a daughter Michelle Parise and her husband Nicholas, St. Johns; a daughter-in-law Amy Friendy, McAdoo; three grandchildren Brittany Lynn Friendy, Alyssa and Nicholas Parise; a brother Anthony and his wife Donna, Allentown; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 10 am with a Memorial Service at Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.  Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo-Tresckow Road, McAdoo.  Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9 am until the time of the service.
