Carmela (Salsone) DePaul

Carmela DePaul, 87, of Sugarloaf, formerly of Oceanside Long Island, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton. 

Born in Rockville Centre, NY on January 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (Loria) Salsone.

Carmela was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, knitting and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Joseph Salsone, and a daughter Donna Macri.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years Leon F. DePaul, Sugarloaf; a daughter Pamela and her husband Robert Fries, Sugarloaf; four grandchildren Michael, Erin, Nicole, and Tiffany; two sisters Angelina Capriotti, Sugarloaf; Mary Trapasso, FL; a brother Anthony Salsone, AZ; six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Home and Crematory (East) 669 West Butler Drive, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Rt. 93 Sugarloaf, with the Reverend Richard J. Polmounter officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.  Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8pm.  A Christian wake service will be held on Friday evening.
