Betty J. "Janie" (Huttenstine) Montigney

Betty J. “Janie” Montigney, 78, of Dorrance Township, passed away Thursday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre following a brief illness.

Born in Wapwallopen on October 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mabel (Hess) Huttenstine, and had resided in Dorrance Township most of her life.  She was employed by RCA in Mountain Top for 25 years.  Later in her life she had also worked at the Slocum Deli for 10 years.  She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Dorrance Township.

Betty loved to crochet, and much of her time was spent working outdoors and in her garden.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking, but spending time with her family is what brought her the most joy. 

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her first husband, Conrad Fetterman, who passed away January 18, 1970; her second husband William Montigney, April 9, 2000; a son Donald B. Fetterman, June 11, 2014; and a brother James Huttenstine. 

Surviving are a son Richard Fetterman and his wife Cynthia, Dorrance Township; a daughter Carol Taney and her husband Justin, Berwick; a daughter-in-law Margaret Fetterman, Dorrance Township; seven grandchildren, Nancy, Donald, David, Danny, Denis, Donna, and Emma; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister Sharon Huttenstine, Crawfordville, FL; several nieces, nephews and aunts; and her beloved friend Adrienne.
